Villa Tortugas was originally built as a secluded, private residence in 20xx. Located in the Rancho San Martin community a few minutes North of Akumal town, it was hewn out of a section of 10,000 sq meters of natural jungle. The main hacienda was constructed of local coral-stone in an Italian style. The gardens and paths were designed by _____ and completed in 20xx. The swimming pool was also added at that time. In 20XX the property was sold and the new owners built the six cabanas and caretaker’s cottage. In 20XX some of the remaining undeveloped area was sold, reducing the final area of the property to the current 5,600 sq meters.

In 2020 the property was purchased by the current owners who became the third custodians of the beautiful jungle oasis. With a love of nature and desire to educate, the new owners decided to make the natural association of each of the cabanas with one of the tortuga species that can be found in the area. Several programs and services, such as afternoon tea and self-enrichment retreats were added to make Villa Tortuga and even more special place.

Guests from all over the world have enjoyed the simple yet rejuvenating ambiance of Villa Tortugas. Intended to remain a modestly priced accommodation, single travelers, couples, families, and groups are welcomed throughout the year. We sincerely hope that you consider visiting us when your travels bring you our way. Making new friends and building memories are some of the greatest pleasures in life and we look forward to you joining the Villa Tortugas family.
